Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. In her early years she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma decided to be an actor when she was six. For several years she was enrolled in the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing, dancing and acting. As part of a school production and the stage of a Stagecoach production, Emma was her role as lead actress at 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) The movie adaptation of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was cast for the first time at the beginning of 1999. Emma was found by agents through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's debut film appearance came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It was also the most successful film during 2001. Opening days and weekends of sales were record-breaking. The film received praise from critics, as were the performance of three stars. The widely distributed British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the film.
